Basic Firearms Safety Rules

Following these 6 basic safety rules will eliminate any problems!

  1. Firearms are always loaded - Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.
  2. Be aware of where the muzzle is pointing - do not allow the muzzle to cross anything you are not willing to destroy.
  3. Finger off the trigger and outside trigger guard until you are ready to fire - Finger is off the trigger and outside trigger guard unless your sights are on target.
  4. Be aware of your backstop - Know what you are shooting at, what is behind it and if anything will move in front of it.
  5. Know how to properly operate your gun.
  6. Store your gun safely and securely to prevent unauthorized use. Guns and ammunition should be stored separately.

These six simple rules have the power to prevent any unintentional shooting.
