SSA Range Rules
- Eye and ear protection is mandatory for shooters and
spectators alike.
- This is a cold range. All firearms are unloaded except
under the direct supervision of a Range Officer (RO) or in a safety area.
Not in the parking lot.
- All firearms are to be kept holstered or bagged with
hammer down. Long arms will also have actions left open and the muzzle pointing
down.
- No loaded firearm will be dropped.
- Any dropped firearm will be picked up by a Range Officer
(RO).
- The 180 degree shooting plane will not be broken (firearm
will always be pointed safely down range).
- No rounds will be fired while loading, reloading, unloading
(rimfire exempted), clearing a malfunction or while moving and not engaging
a target.
- No shots will impact the ground within 10 feet of anyone.
- No shots will leave the range.
- No wearing of camouflaged clothing or clothing with controversial
sayings.
- No shooters are to use or be under the influence of any
legal or illegal substance while on the range.
- No unsportsmenlike behavior.
Breaking any of these rules will result
in the immediate disqualifcation and / or removal of the person(s) involved.
- SSA Range Officers and Staff will have final say in
all matters.
- SSA reserves the right to refuse service at any time,
to anyone.
